I ; N Collective
- standing for Improv Now, is an international, London based improvisation collective compromising of nine dancers.
Our work involves performing fully improvised dance incorporating elements of comedy, theatre and music to create a multi-textured experience. Using only an enter and exit score, we work with space, time and sensitivity towards each other and the audience. Working together for numerous hours has allowed us to build trust and common understanding of our practice. We have managed to hone tactics that help us to thread motifs and contrasting compositional elements throughout the piece, while everything remains improvised from beginning until the end.
The group has performed at Lilian Baylis Studio (Sadlers Wells), The Place, Wycombe Arts Centre (Buckinghamshire Culture Festival), WappArt (ACTION LAB - Bodies In Action), Mind The Gap, Hornsey vale Community Centre & St Pancras Church Gardens.
We’ve collaborated with Child Studios (Somerset House) and frequently lead improvisation workshops for groups. Including for Youth Theatre Japan, Company of Elders (Sadlers Wells), Age UK & Impington Village College Cambridge.
